Notebook and flowers on a bright desk

We publish useful stories for people who like to notice how ordinary things work.

Everyday Fieldnotes is a small editorial journal about useful ways of paying attention to ordinary life: what we carry on a walk, how we arrange a shelf, what we cook before ingredients fade, and which objects are worth keeping after a trip.

We prefer concrete details to sweeping advice. Each article starts with one small subject and tries to make it more practical, more observable or simply easier to enjoy.

How we work

We keep the scope narrow, use images that belong to the subject, and edit for pieces that still make sense after the week they were published. The result is a collection of quiet, useful notes rather than a stream of urgent updates.

01

Useful over impressive

A clear, practical detail is usually more valuable than a grand claim.

02

Images that belong

Photography should help explain the place, object or process beside it.

03

Useful later too

We edit for stories that still make sense when they are reopened weeks later.
